I started a blog!
The year is 2016. Every human being and their mother who (1) owns an iPhone, (2) has a decent following on Instagram, and (3) travels to places and/or eats food thinks they can become a blogger - I am among them.
A Little About Me
My name is Whitney Lam and I am (officially) a blogger. Let's be real - I'm owning up to the title to hold myself accountable for updating the blog on a regular basis. This blog is simply a way to share my thoughts and my adventures with anyone who is willing to listen/read/watch/etc.
I used to roll my eyes at the people who told me that "life" didn't really start until after college (you know, only if you chose to go to college). This word of advice made me feel small, as if anything noteworthy about my life would come only after I was $100,000 in debt for a stamped piece of paper. Well, they were right (to some extent). I graduated from Mount Saint Mary's University in May 2015 with a B.S. in Nursing. I was immediately blessed with my dream job in the ICU at one of the best hospitals in the nation, a new, disposable income, a brand new shiny passport, and I was newly single. Life was about to go from 0 to 100 real quick.
So It Begins...
In the past year, I have been blessed with many opportunities to travel; more than I could have ever imagined growing up since the only trips my family took needed to be within a day's worth of driving so my parents could make it back to work come Monday morning. Up until my final years of college, the only international trip that I had been on was a 4-day cruise to Mexico and my family only went as far as Ensenada.
One of the greatest lessons I have learned thus far in my nursing practice is that life is too short to pass on the opportunities that physically, mentally, and emotionally challenge you to reach your full potential. This blog is going to serve as a creative space to share my personal journey navigating adulthood, my growing love for the great outdoors, and stories about my travels for my family and friends. I hope you continue to follow along as we embark on this adventure together!
The best is yet to come.
With love and gratitude,
Whitney
